The Senior Accountant will work closely with clients while performing duties such as entering invoices, entering gifts/donations, paying bills, reconciling bank and other accounts (prepaid expenses, liabilities, etc.). This is a great role for someone who enjoys the variety and flexibility of working with many types of clients, i.e. faith-based organizations, environmental organizations, community advocacy organizations, for-profit small businesses, etc. Fit is of the highest importance.
Experience • 3+ years’ experience in accounting necessary. • Experience in QuickBooks Online necessary. • Knowledge of and use of Office365 suite necessary. • Experience in Bill.com helpful but not necessary. • Experience in nonprofit accounting helpful but not necessary. • Experience utilizing and implementing other software systems is a plus.
Accounting • Perform account reconciliations: bank, investments, credit card, and other such as prepaid expenses or liability accounts. • Perform month end procedures: walk through month end spreadsheet for clients which encapsulates each of the areas noted above. • Assist with month end financial packages (i.e. P&L, BS, board and finance committee reports). Accounts Payable • Process and pay invoices and reimbursement expenses. • Process credit card transactions and monthly credit card reconciliations. Payroll • Process biweekly payroll through third party payroll software. • Enter payroll journal entries and monthly accrual entries. Accounts Receivable • Process invoices/donations and receipt of payments. Education • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
