Make a difference in the lives of seniors in your community! Remove snow and help your neighbors remain in their homes and communities! We need help in throughout Hennepin County at seniors' homes. You will help the number of seniors that you chose for the entire winter season keeping them safe and assisting them with this vital need! Job description: Shovel within 24 hours of end of 2+ inch snowfalls Salting/clearing ice as needed to support safety Maintain good communication with participants and HOME Program staff and complete all required paperwork to document hours and work completed. Pay and hours: Paid $20 per hour but earn more with a route! Flexibility to manage own schedule with participant’s needs in mind (weekdays and/or weekends) Hours depend upon snowfall; may work with multiple participants, increasing the number of hours available Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old with basic, conversational English language skills Must be physically able to do the work (lift 20+ pounds, bend, stretch, etc.) Must have a passion for quality work and a “yes” attitude to get the job done Ability to be calm, patient, and compassionate in working with older adults and their caregivers Must provide your own equipment (shovel, ice chopper, and/or snowblower) Must provide own transportation to participants’ homes, including equipment transport Must be reliable and commit for the entire season (based on weather and until the final snow/ice storm in the spring) Provide references and pass background check

We are looking for people who have a heart for working with older adults and want to make a difference in the lives of seniors in their community! Our staff value most the relationships that are formed with the seniors that they assist. Must be able to commute to locations in Hennepin County, MN.

We pair our staff with seniors in their city or nearby. You control your own schedule but need to remove snow within 24 hours of the snow stopping. The number of hours are determined by how many clients you elect to remove snow for and how often is snows throughout the season. We ask that you maintain good communication with participants and HOME Program staff and complete all required paperwork to document hours and work completed.
